In this policy, "we" means Kingcraft Technologies LTD and "the App" means Clenox: Secure Cleanup for iPhone. This policy covers the App and this website at clenox.app.
2. Short version
A note on this section. We're publishing this policy alongside the App's initial release. The definitive record of what the App requests and declares is always the App Privacy section on its official App Store listing — if anything here ever reads differently from what's shown there, the App Store listing is the accurate one, and we'll update this page to match. What follows describes how the App is actually built.
| Data | Where it's processed | Leaves your device? |
| Photos and videos scanned for cleanup | On your iPhone | No |
| Contacts you choose to secure | On your iPhone | No |
| Secret Space media and passcode | On your iPhone | No |
| Private Browser search activity | Sent to the search provider to return results; not saved as history on your device | Search terms only, to show results |
| Purchases and subscription status | Apple (StoreKit / App Store) | Yes — to Apple, not to us |
| Emails you choose to send us | Our mailbox | Yes, because you sent it |
We do not sell data. The App does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) to track you across other apps or websites.
3. How each tool works
- Smart Cleaner & Clean by Category. The App reads your Photos library through Apple's Photos framework to find duplicates, similar shots and large files. Comparison happens on your device; nothing is uploaded to generate a suggestion.
- Secret Space. Media and contacts you move into Secret Space stay stored on your device, behind a passcode you set. We don't hold a copy of that passcode and can't recover it for you — see Support for what to do if you forget it.
- Private Browser. Built not to write to a saved browsing history on your device. Your search terms are still sent to whichever search provider you use, the same way they would be from any browser, in order to return results — Private Browser's role is not keeping a local record of where you've been.
4. What Apple handles
- Purchases. Subscriptions are sold and billed entirely through Apple's In-App Purchase system (StoreKit). We never see your card details. Apple shares with us only whether a purchase or subscription is active, so the App can unlock what you paid for.
- Diagnostics you opt into. If you've enabled "Share With App Developers" in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may pass us crash logs in de-identified form.
- App Store metrics. Apple provides us with aggregated, anonymous figures — downloads, subscription counts — through App Store Connect.
5. Permissions and why they're asked for
- Photos. Required for Smart Cleaner, Clean by Category, and for moving media into Secret Space.
- Contacts. Required only if you choose to secure contacts inside Secret Space.
- Face ID / Touch ID (optional). If you choose to unlock Secret Space with biometrics instead of typing your passcode, that check is performed by iOS itself — the App only receives a yes/no result, never your biometric data.
- Notifications (optional). Used only for app-related messages if you allow them.
Every permission can be withdrawn at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security. Withdrawing a permission stops the feature that depends on it from working; nothing is deleted as a result.
6. Legal bases
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, we rely on:
- Performance of a contract — providing the App's features and managing your subscription and purchases through Apple.
- Your consent — the iOS prompts for Photos and Contacts, which you grant or decline directly through iOS.
- Our legitimate interests — keeping the App working reliably and responding to support emails.
7. Who data is shared with
We don't sell or rent personal data. The parties involved in running the App are:
- Apple — App Store distribution, In-App Purchase billing, and optional crash diagnostics you've enabled in iOS.
- Your chosen search provider, for the search terms you type into Private Browser — the same as with any browser.
- Our email provider, for correspondence you choose to send us.
- Our website hosting provider, which may keep standard server access logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and availability of this website.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.
8. International transfers
Apple's App Store infrastructure operates internationally, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK or EEA in connection with your purchase, that transfer is governed by Apple's own privacy terms and the safeguards Apple applies as the payment processor and platform operator.
9. How long data is kept
- Photos, videos, contacts and Secret Space content. Held on your device only, for as long as you keep them there. Deleting the App removes its local data, including anything stored in Secret Space.
- Purchase and subscription status. Held by Apple for as long as your Apple Account requires.
- Support email. Kept for as long as needed to resolve your request, then deleted.
10. Your rights
If the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, you have the right to request access to any personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
Write to privacy@clenox.app from the address concerned, and we'll answer within one month (or tell you if we need longer, as the law allows). In practice, because your photos, contacts and Secret Space content never reach us, a request from you will mostly concern any support correspondence we hold, since your purchase records sit with Apple.
If you believe we've handled your data improperly, you can complain to your national data protection authority — for example the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) in the UK, where Kingcraft Technologies LTD is based. We'd rather you told us first, at the address above.
11. Children
Clenox is not directed at children in a way that involves collecting personal data from them. If you believe a child has used the App in a way that raises a concern, write to privacy@clenox.app.
12. Security
Any connection this website or the App makes travels over encrypted HTTPS. The strongest measure here is structural rather than technical: the App is built so your photos, contacts and Secret Space content stay on your device, which means there is no database of ours holding them to be breached. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we don't claim otherwise.
13. Changes to this policy
If the App changes in a way that affects this policy, we'll update it before or alongside that release, and the date at the top will change with it. The current version always lives at clenox.app/privacy.html.
